On the outskirts of Windhoek, the University of Namibia’s main campus is nestled amongst undulating hills. About five minutes’ drive from the centre of town, the main campus is easy to find on the intersection, Western Bypass and Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue, Pionierspark.
The main campus offers students a wide variety of study options and includes courses and degrees at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The Windhoek Main Campus, as central hub of the university, is unrivaled in size in comparison to the other campuses of the institution. Being the largest, it offers students a rich life and wider access to academic programmes. Students can look to a broader scope of things. Despite its size, the Main Campus has a warm and fun-loving community, where most people generally know each other.
Facilities & Stats
The Campus boasts some state-of-the-art lecture rooms with the latest audio-visual technology, computer labs and a library. Academic programme offering on campus are spread across 4 Faculties. The campus also has a student hub and a 24 hour study facility.
The Campus Library has computer workstations for student use and subscribes to a number of online databases. Off-Campus access to those databases is also available through the UNAM website. In addition to Short-Loan Provisions, Special and Digital Collections, the University Libraries house a volume of over 180 000 books located on Open Shelf Collection (obtainable from other Libraries through the Inter-Library Loan service) and nearly 300 print journal titles.
